Although yet to see one it looks very much like an M-51 replica with the US Air force stripes on the sleeve...and I assume "the who" on the back........
To be coincided with the re-launch of the Quadrophenia album this wonder parka will be on sale around Nov we beleive...
The question is...do you pay £500 for a replica quadrophenia jimmy parka...or....simply buy a real one for half the price....simples really...:)....
Although we should distinguish..between the "jimmy parka" and the quadrophenia....as..they not the same !!...
The fishtail parka used on the 1972 quadrophenica album is...one of two...depending on which pics etc....one is a "gas parka"....the other used in most of the album pics etc is an M-51 with USAF stripes....The parka on the front cover with "who" painted on the back is in fact a "gas parka" and the parka used in the album story pics is a genuine M-51 with reversed mohair liner.
Now, the term "jimmy" Parka generally refers to the parka worn by Phil Daniels in the 1979 film quadrophenia..which was an M-51 with non original wool liner.....(we can supply this on special request)...
So if you really want a "jimmy" parka, quadrophenia parka...decide which and give us a bell and we can do it :)....
